Once upon a time, in the exhilarating world of ice hockey, there lived a remarkable player named Darren "The Enforcer" McCarty. Darren was not only known for his formidable skills on the ice but also for his warm and approachable nature. He always said “The fans are my fuel and I’m the battery”.
In 2015, Scotty, a passionate Detroit Red Wing fan, met Darren McCarty in person to collaborate on some apparel designs. To meet this celebrated four-time Stanley Cup champion was an extraordinary opportunity. With a heart brimming with enthusiasm, excitement and anticipation, Scotty approached Darren eager to connect with him. Scotty couldn't contain his curiosity, and he bombarded him with numerous questions about his illustrious career, his training regimen, and what it felt like to lift the Stanley Cup. After a few questions Darren turned to Scotty and said “I rarely come up with nicknames but yours has be to ‘Scotty Questions’ because you ask so many f***** questions!”
Scotty’s questions never faltered, but Darren patient smile never left his face as he imparted his wisdom and experiences. From that day forward, Scotty was known as “Questions” within Darren’s circle, a title which symbolizes his relentless thirst for knowledge and unwavering curiosity. To be Questionable became a badge of honor and reminded him a hunger for understanding can forge deep connections between individuals. And so, with Scotty’s newfound moniker, he turned a word into a small business to create custom apparel for those individuals who are driven to ask questions.
Scotty remains “Scotty Question,” forever grateful for the kindness of a champion who recognized his passion and nurtured it into a powerful force. Darren’s mentorship is helping to grow a community which artistically embraces and celebrates differences.
WE ARE QUESTIONABLE!
